The Story Behind the Ascend
Born From the Journey. Built to Ascend.
Ascend Culture wasn't created because my life went according to plan. It was created because it didn't.
I'm from New Orleans, a city that shaped my love for culture, style, and individuality. It also taught me resilience at an early age. When Hurricane Katrina devastated the city in 2005, I was displaced from the place I called home and forced to adjust to an entirely different life.
I didn't realize it then, but learning how to start over would become a recurring theme in my journey.
I didn't graduate high school the traditional way. I faced setbacks, fell behind, and eventually earned my GED. There were plenty of reasons I could have allowed where I came from or what didn't go right to determine where I was going.
I chose to keep moving.
That journey eventually led me into the United States Air Force, where discipline, sacrifice, responsibility, and experiences far beyond the environment I grew up in continued shaping the man I was becoming.
Life still wasn't finished testing me. I lost my father. I became a father myself. And when my daughter came into my life, success became about more than me. I wanted to build something she could look at one day and know that no matter where you begin, you can always become something greater.
Through every chapter, one thing remained constant: my love for clothes.
Growing up in New Orleans, style was never just about what you wore. It was personality. Confidence. Culture. It was a way of showing the world a piece of who you were without saying a word.
Eventually, I realized I didn't just want to wear something that represented that mindset.
I wanted to create it.
That's where Ascend Culture was born.
To ascend means to rise. Not because you've had a perfect journey, but because you refuse to let where you started, what you've lost, or what you've been through determine where you finish.
Ascend Culture is for the person rebuilding. The person betting on themselves. The person trying to create something better for their family. The person who has been knocked off course but refuses to stay there.
This is more than clothing to me.
It's where I came from. It's what I've overcome. It's what I'm building.
And wherever your own journey started, the message remains the same:
Keep Ascending.
Elevate Everything.
